Paleography and Manuscript Culture

Paleography and Manuscript Culture

Visual materials for each week were organized in separate tabs. Using resources from several databases and private collections, an array of materials was assembled that solved the dilemma of providing comparative resources.

Teaching Challenge:

The study of paleography entails close readings of manuscripts that are not typically available in books. A variety of examples are essential to help students differentiate between regional or historical variants of particular scripts. These needed to be organized in a way that allowed for systematic presentation and review.
