PITF Mira Atanassova assisted thoroughly with these teaching strategy by:

a) Linking each of the 50 assigned disputes to existing online resources on the dispute, including the actual WTO filings and decision(s).
b)Creating a wiki page for each dispute with pre-existing headings, making it easy for students to input relevant information to their page
c)Answering faculty and student questions about the wiki.
d)Serving as a resource for any technical issues students experienced.

Teaching Challenge:

Professor Wu wanted students to: (a) gain a sense of how WTO adjudicators analyze and structure their legal decisions, and (b) understand the main facts and legal holdings of important WTO cases. Because of the excessive length of WTO decisions, it would be extremely time-consuming for students to do this individually. To work around this issue, Professor Wu created a wiki of WTO disputes where students worked collaboratively to provide summaries of important disputes. Each student was assigned to summarize one dispute and to edit another student’s summary. The wiki format allowed for quick, easy editing. Confluence Wiki was selected for the pilot and its user-friendly interface. Students then used their classmates’ summaries on the wiki as a study aid in preparing for the exam.
